“Can a Muslim to eat foods from the celebration of the Book (Jews and Christians) or from / celebration of the feast of the idolaters in them or receive a gift related to their feast day?”
“There should be a Muslim to eat foods that are made by Jews and Christians or Pagans associated with their feast day. Similarly, a Muslim should not accept gifts related to the celebration.
Because if we accept gifts related to their feast day, it includes forms the glory and help in spreading their religion syi’ar. It also includes promoting their teachings are fetched and also happy in their celebration. As it can be considered to make their celebration into a celebration of the Muslims.
Perhaps initially they wanted to invite us, but replaced with a lighter is to provide food or gifts when they feast. This includes disaster and religious teachings which fetched. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said,
ﻣَﻦْ ﺃَﺣْﺪَﺙَ ﻓِﻰ ﺃَﻣْﺮِﻧَﺎ ﻫَﺬَﺍ ﻣَﺎ ﻟَﻴْﺲَ ﻓِﻴﻪِ ﻓَﻬُﻮَ ﺭَﺩٌّ
“Whoever forges a new practice that is not the teachings of us, then the deeds rejected.” (HR. Bukhari and Muslim)
As is also not permissible for a Muslim to give gifts to non-Muslims are associated with their celebration.
